Description / Inspiration
The Artist’s design features a number of elements - portraits of Bill O’Brien, a local Aboriginal Elder affectionately known as "Uncle Bill", and Lachlan Macquarie, the Governor of NSW, 1810 to 1821- wrapped in Australia’s flora and fauna. The design name, Garage Girl, pays tribute to one of the oldest local female koalas who recently died of old age.
Garage Girl, by artist Leanne Prussing, has moved to a new home from the Historic Courthouse in Port Macquarie. Wiseberry Port Macquarie has welcomed this very popular sculpture to their high profile shopfront at the roundabout between Short Street and Williams Street. You can pop in to see Garage Girl in the Galleria Building between Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 5.15 pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm Saturday just outside the front door. Or take a photo from the street frontage after hours. Great team at Wiseberry - thank you for embracing Garage Girl into your family.
